William Stephen Wadsworth Jr. 82, of Hilliard Road in Cornish, NH died Friday afternoon, October 21, 2011 at his home. He was born in Arlington, MA on April 29, 1929, the son of William Stephen Sr. and Bertha Luranah (Smiley) Wadsworth and resided in Cornish the last twenty-five years. Bill served in the US Army with the Military Police from 1951 to 1953. He worked in a mattress manufacturing business in the Boston area before coming to Claremont to work as a manager with Bourdon’s Mattress until his retirement. He was a member of the Masonic Pulpit Rock Lodge in Pelham, NH a past Scout Master of the Boy Scouts, Troop 332 of Cornish and a life member of the NRA. The family includes his wife Luise J. Paukert who he married on November 21, 1953 and enjoyed just short of fifty-eight years together; one son, William S. Wadsworth III and his wife Beth of Cornish; one daughter, Lori Wadsworth and her husband Nick Charles of Cornish; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and two nephews. He was preceded in death by a great- granddaughter, Makenzie Robbins. Funeral services will be held Friday morning, October 28th at 11AM in the United Church of Cornish with Rev. Dale Louise Nicholas, Pastor, officiating. A reception will follow in the Church hall. The burial will be held in Edminister Cemetery after the reception.
