Anne Shirley Rice, 69, of Oak Court in Charlestown, NH passed away on Thursday, November 15, 2012.

She was born in Bellows Falls, VT on January 31, 1943 the daughter of Dayton Edwin and Doris Laura (Merrill) Russell and was a life long resident of Charlestown.

She loved her family dearly and to ensure her children could play baseball, she volunteered to be the team’s coach and to many of those players to this day she was known as “Ma Rice”.  She had a special relationship with her grandchildren and could be seen at many of their events.

Anne worked for Whitney Blake for 20+ years.

She was a member of the American Legion of Claremont, the Moose Club and the Polish American Club both of Bellows Falls, VT.

The surviving family includes a daughter, Cherie A. Brown and her husband, Robert of Charlestown, a son, Neal E. Rice of Florida, a daughter, Valorie J. Rice of Colorado; sisters, Kitty Elliott of Marlow, Martha Smith and her husband, Ralph of Louisiana, Bonnie West and her husband, Howard of Texas, Marianne Beauregard and her companion, Doug of Charlestown; a brother, David Russell and his wife, Mercedes of Charlestown; three grandchildren; Chris, Sarah and Aaron and several nieces and nephews.

She was pre-deceased by her brother-in-law, Jimmy Elliott.

Funeral Services will be held at the Charlestown Memorial Chapel on Main Street on Saturday, November 24^th at 11:00AM with Pastor Harold Noyes, officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Crest Cemetery.  Friends may call at the Chapel from 10 to 11AM prior to the service.
