Bernard Edward Lariviere, 89, formerly of 2nd NH Turnpike, Unity, NH died Friday, August 3, 2012 at Sullivan County Health Care, Unity, NH, 3 days before his 90th birthday.

He was born in Manchester, NH on August 6, 1922 the son of Joseph Arthur and Diana (Proulx) Lariviere.  He resided in Sunapee, Claremont and Newport for many years and lived in Unity since 1960.

He was a graduate of Towle High School in Newport, NH.

He was a veteran of WWII having served in the US Army.

Bernard was self-employed for twenty-five years as a plumber and steam fitter working in the family business, J. Arthur & Son Plumbing in Newport.

He retired in 1985 from Jones & Lamson Machine Co. in Springfield, VT where he worked in maintenance for eleven years.

He was a former member of the American Legion.

The surviving family includes his wife, Shirley (Shedd) Lariviere of Claremont whom he married on May 12, 1951; three daughters, Carol Lariviere of Round Pond, ME, Laura Lariviere of Claremont and Michele Lariviere of Lebanon; six grandsons, Chad Howe, Shaun Howe, Matthew Howe, Thomas Wahle, Ryan Wahle and Tyler Petrin; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Andrew Lariviere of Wells, ME; one sister, Claire Delaney of RI; nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by one brother, Louis Lariviere and one sister, Rose Delaney.
