Eleanor T. (Roberts) Geary, 81, of Claremont, NH, died after a short illness, on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at Valley Regional Hospital.
She was born in Claremont on July 31, 1931 the daughter of the late William A. and Dora M. (Courtemanche) Roberts.
She attended Nursing School in Portland, ME and Claremont, NH at Claremont Community Technical College, receiving her nursing degree with high honors, while being a mother of seven young children.
She worked for many years at VRH, as a Nurse, in Labor and Delivery Department.
She was the mother of 8 children, grandmother of 23, great grandmother of 11 children.
Eleanor enjoyed traveling with her family, family gatherings, crossword puzzles, reading and her cat.
She married Edward J. Geary, Jr. on September 23, 1950 in Nashua, NH and he died November 11, 1988.
Her family includes a brother, William A. Roberts of Cleveland, GA; five daughters, Catherine Frye of Richmond, NH, Patricia MacLeay of Cornish, NH, Susan Snow of New London, NH, Carol Dauphine of Claremont, NH and Mary Boardman of Keene, NH; two sons, Michael F. Geary of Boulder Creek, CA and John J. Geary of Springfield, NH.
She was preceded in death by one son, Edward J. Geary, III.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, August 19th from 6 to 8PM at Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday morning, August 20th at 11AM in St Mary Church with Rev. Father Shawn Therrien Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in St Mary Cemetery.
