Gertrude Stewart, 100, passed away on Thursday morning, April 19, 2012 at Sullivan County Health Care in Unity, NH.

She was born in Leominister, MA on February 24, 1912 the daughter of Aldoph and Eva (Bergeron) Picard.

Gertrude liked to fish, crochet, knit and do crossword puzzles. She loved the Red Sox and the Celtics.

She married Bert E. Stewart on November 28, 1928 and he died in 1980.

The family includes two sons, Bernard Stewart and his wife, Harriet of Bellows Falls, VT and Francis Stewart of Charlestown, NH; one daughter, Cathie Marshall and her husband, Alfred of Apoka, FL; one daughter-in-law Jean Stewart of Springfield, VT; 16 grandchildren; many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; also many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, three sons, Bert Jr., William and Robert Stewart and one grandson, Scott Marshall.

A graveside service will be held in Pine Grove Cemetery in North Springfield, VT on April 28^th at 11:00AM.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations may be made in her memory to a cancer fund of one’s choice.
