Helen Marie Granger, 83, formerly of Hanover Street in Claremont died Thursday morning, November 22, 2012 at the Sullivan County Health Care in Unity surrounded by her family. She was a native and life long resident of Claremont, born on May 1, 1929 the daughter of Alfred and Roseanna (LaCasse) Garneau. Helen was a 1947 graduate of St. Mary High School, a member of the Ladies of St. Anne Society and a communicant of St. Joseph Church. She married Andrew A. Granger on June 25, 1949 and he died on April 26, 1991. The family includes two sons, John A. Granger of Claremont, Michael R. Granger of Canaan; one daughter, Gloria A. Martell and her husband, Brad of Charlestown; three brothers, Robert Garneau, Roland Garneau and Ronald Garneau; four grandchildren, Christy Webb, Jessica Tenney, Nathan Martell and Echo Granger; six great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by a sister, Cecile Garneau. Visiting hours will be held at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street, Claremont on Monday morning November 26th from 9:00 to 11:00AM prior to the Mass. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday morning, November 26th at 11:30AM in the St. Joseph Church with Rev. Father George Majka Pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Mary Cemetery. |
