Leah Gershaw, 94, of Seattle, Washington, died on Sunday evening, February 5, 2012. She was born in Claremont, NH on December 24, 1917 the daughter of Abraham and Ida (Goldberg) Satzow. Leah was a graduate of Stevens High School in Class of 1935. She had worked as a bookkeeper for many years. She was an avid bridge player and enjoyed gardening, reading, movies and most of all spending time with her family and grandchildren. Leah was a loving Mother and Grandmother and had raised her family in Swampscott, MA before moving to Seattle, WA three years ago. Leah is the widow of both her first husband, Herbert Silberg and her husband, Ira Gershaw. The family includes one daughter, Debra Devito and her husband, Anthony of Lynnfield, MA; one son, Thomas Gershaw and his wife, Yoshimi of Kirkland, WA; three grandchildren, Jonathan Devito, Tia Devito and Ellie Gershaw; one sister, Rosalyn Quint and her husband, Sidney. She was predeceased by two brothers, Sam Satzow and Meyer Satzow, who was killed in action in World War II. Graveside services will be held on Sunday, February 12th at 9:00AM in the Temple Meyer-David Cemetery in Claremont. Friends and family are invited to attend.
