Lena Vivian Cobb, 82, formerly of Woodrise Road in Charlestown, died Saturday morning, February 25, 2012 at the Elmwood Center in Claremont. She was born in Grafton, West Virginia on May 1, 1929 the daughter of the late George Cassel and Nitia G. (Means) Auvil. She had resided in Charlestown since 1952 and previously had resided in Grafton, WV, Long Beach, CA and Boston, MA. She was a member of the Charlestown Bible Church and was involved in many activities including hosting a bible study. Lena had worked for the area shoe shops in Claremont as a stitcher. The family includes one son, Norman C. Cobb, Jr., of West Chesterfield, NH; three daughters, Doris M. Mudge of Wallingford, VT, Jane E. Palmer of Woburn, MA and Nancy A. Metilly of Milo, ME; a twin brother, Leon Auvil of Auburndale, MA; two sisters, Laura Lewis of Oceanside, CA and Patricia Foltz of Cherry Hill, NJ; twenty grandchildren; one great grandchild; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by two grandsons, Timothy Metilly and Daniel Metilly; four sisters, Helen Lockwood, Gladys Kramer, Esther Perle and Clara “Jean” Maselli. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 17th at 11 am in the Charlestown Bible Church, 37 Hammond Road, Charlestown with Pastor David Becker, officiating. A reception and visiting time will be held at the Church after the service. Private burial will be at a later date in Pine Crest Cemetery. |
