Lyman W. Fitzgearld, 68, of Briggs Street in Claremont, died Thursday evening, November 1, 2012, at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center.

He was born in Yakima, Washington the son of Lyman and Annabelle (Gibbons) Fitzgearld.  He grew up in the Yakima area. 

He drove truck for a cattle company for awhile. He volunteered for Open Hands Mission of Claremont where he made numerous friends.  He also was an avid Ham radio operator, not only in this area, but in Maryland where he lived for a while.

His family includes five children that are either in the armed forces or living on the west coast; one sister, Dena Mathews, from Shelton, Washington; and his girlfriend of many years Doreen Needham of Claremont.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning, November 7, 2012 at Eleven O'Clock in the Stringer Funeral Home with Rev. Priscilla Hill officiating.

Friends may call at the Stringer Funeral Home on Tuesday night from 6 – 8 PM.

In lieu of flowers the family has asked to make donations to the Stringer Funeral Home to help with funeral costs.
