Marion Ann Boardman, 93 of Claremont, NH died Friday, January 13, 2012 at the Elm Wood Center of Claremont.

She was born in New York City, NY on October 13, 1918 the daughter of George William and Agnes E. (Knowles) Mills.

She was a graduate of Vilas High School in Alstead.

Marion resided in Cornish for over forty years and in Claremont since 2002.

She worked as a nurses aid at he Sullivan County Nursing Home for 27 years and retired in 1988.  She was a member of the Cornish Grange #25, Past Master of Sullivan County Pomona Grange, the N.H. State Grange, the American Legion Auxiliary, the Women of the Moose Lodge #629, the Cornish Garden Club and the Cornish Home Dem Club. A former member of the United Church of Cornish where she was in the choir and a Deaconess for 12 years and also secretary for the Cornish Cemetery Department while her husband was the sexton.

She was the widow of Hollis J. Boardman, Sr. whom she married on September 3, 1937 and he died July 25, 1987.  She was also preceded in death by two sons, Juan V. Boardman who died January 23, 1998 and Carlot Boardman who died on June 26, 2006.

The surviving family includes five sons, Hollis J. Boardman, Jr. of Roswell, NM, Merle Boardman of Claremont, Wayne Boardman of Newport, Kendrick Boardman of Cornish and Wesley Boardman of Claremont; one daughter, Elaine Osgood;  36 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; 3 great great-grandchildren and very close friend, Josephine Jewell of Cornish.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont on January 22nd at 3:00PM with Rev. Kenneth & Laura Rahne, Pastors of the Victory In Jesus Church, officiating.

Visiting hours will be held from 2 to 3 prior to the service.

Interment will be held in the spring in Edminister Cemetery in Cornish.
