Marion E. Davis, 92, of Claremont, NH died Sunday evening May 27, 2012 at the Sullivan County Nursing Home.

She was born in Claremont on April 21, 1920, the daughter of Eugene and Ellen M. (Mcelreavy) Clough and has been a lifetime resident of Claremont.

Marion was a graduate of St. Mary High School in the class of 1937. She attended Concord Business College.

She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, The Faith & Light Group, The Claremont Congress of Senior Citizens and the Earl Bourdon Center Residents Association.

She was the widow of Donald L. Davis who died on June 7, 1993.

The family includes one son, Donald F. Davis of Claremont; five daughters, Shirley Stern of Melrose, MA, Eileen Relation of Burlington, VT, Sylvia Hemingway of Newport, NH, Beverly Davis of Nashua, NH, and Joyce Davis of Newport, NH; nine grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by ten sisters and brothers.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Mary Church in Claremont on Wednesday, May 30th at Eleven O’clock with Rev. Father Shawn M. Therrien, Pastor, officiating. 

Visiting hours will be held at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street, Claremont, NH, from 9:30 to 10:30 prior to the Mass.                           

Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.

The family suggests that donations may be made in her memory to a charity of ones choice.
