MayBelle “Teenie” Rock, 86, of Harrington Road of Cornish, NH passed away at Cedar Hill Continuing Care Community on February 4, 2012. She was preceded by her husband, John “Jack” Rock by 4 years. Teenie was born in Waterbury, CT on June 19, 1925. She was the daughter of the late Ellsworth and Myrtle Perkins. She moved to Cornish, NH as an infant and spent her entire life there. She went to grammar school and middle school in Cornish and then graduated from Stevens High School, Class of 1945. She then attended Hesser Business College in Manchester, NH. As a young girl, Teenie loved horseback riding. Later in life she became an avid genealogist. In 1980 she went to England with her nephew, Clyde Perkins and his family, to do research on the Perkins genealogy. After running out of leads on the Perkins genealogy, she researched and compiled the Rock genealogy. After Jack retired, he became Sexton for the Town of Cornish. Teenie helped him in his work in the cemetery and used her love of genealogy to organize the Town of Cornish Cemetery records. She spent 14 years researching town records, conducting countless interviews of relatives and descendants and perusing the cemeteries. The information is all compiled in three volumes which are recognized by the State of New Hampshire Senate Research. Teenie loved animals, especially the needy ones. Over the years she had many interests including gardening, rockhounding, refinishing furniture, and collecting old bottles. She was a loving mother and grandmother.
