Norma Ellen Neil, 83, formerly of Charlestown and 67 Maple Ave., Claremont, NH, died August 3, 2012 at Valley Regional Hospital.

She was born in Claremont, NH on June 19, 1929, the daughter of Edwin and Ethel M. (Fontaine) Hathaway.

Norma was a graduate of Stevens High School.

She married her husband, Charles Henry Neil, Jr. on August 13, 1949 and he died June 15, 1994.

She worked at Sylvania in Hillsboro, NH and at the Sullivan County Nursing Home in the kitchen.   Norma enjoyed playing bingo.

The family includes two sons, Gary C. Neil and his wife, Debra and Richard H. Neil and his wife Sandy all of Claremont; three daughters, Brenda J. Pardy and her husband, Richard of Claremont, Martha A. Neil of Unity and Lisa Morse of Springfield, VT; one brother, Cedric Hathaway and his wife, June of Arkansas; ten grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one niece and many cousins.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at 11 AM in the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont with Pastor Kenneth Rahne of the Victory in Jesus Church officiating. 

Friends may call from 10AM to 11AM prior to the service. 

Burial will follow in Hope Hill Cemetery, Charlestown, NH.

A reception will be held at the VFW on Lovers Lane Road in Charlestown where she loved to play bingo.
