Norma Louise Parris, 90, of Charlestown, NH died on Tuesday evening, October 23, 2012. Norma was born in Springfield, VT on November 28, 1921 the daughter of Edward and Una (Johnson) Parker and had resided in Charlestown since 1955. She loved gardening, baking specializing in wedding cakes, playing games and dancing. Most of her life she was involved in raising her children and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a former Girl Scout Leader and a member of the Grange of Vermont. She was pre-deceased by her first husband, Albert W. Allen who died in 1963 and her second husband, Arthur L. Parris who died in 1983 and one son, Gerald C. Allen who died in 2012. The surviving family includes one son, Rodney B. Allen and his wife, Leveda of Panama City, FL; four daughters, Rita L. Meservey and her husband, Charles, Sr. of Pembroke, Susan J. Richardson and her husband, Harland, Debra J. Clark and her husband, Ronald and Marla K. Baldasaro all of Charlestown; a daughter-in-law, Judi Allen of N. Walpole; two step-sons, James Parris of CA and Kim Parris of FL; 23 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; one brother, Gilbert Parker of Allenstown and numerous nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by 2 brothers and 4 sisters. Funeral services will be held at the Charlestown Memorial Chapel, 34 Main Street in Charlestown on Saturday, October 27th at 2:00PM with Rev. Susan Grant Rosen, Pastor of the Charlestown Congregational Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery in N. Springfield, VT. Friends may call at the Chapel from 1 to 2PM prior to the service. A reception will follow the burial at the Charlestown Congregational Church. |
