Peter Lee Rice, 57, of Claremont, NH, died Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, Lebanon, NH after a short illness. He was born on January 26, 1955 the youngest child of William A. Rice and Evelyn (Wright) Rice.

He attended school in Claremont, Charlestown and Randolph, VT.  He worked on construction and as a maintenance man for many companies. He enjoyed yard work, gardening, carpentry and family events.

Peter is survived by his children, William J. Rice of Claremont and Chelsea M. Rice of Springfield, VT; his mother, Evelyn W. Michalenoick of Claremont; a brother, Neal O. Rice and his wife, Judy of Charlestown; a sister, E. Frances French and her husband, Harold of Roxbury, VT; a brother, William A. Rice III and his wife, Ellen of Fairfield, ME; also nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. 

He was predeceased by his father, William A. Rice and a brother, Stephen E. Rice of East Concord, NH.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, August 25, 2012 at 2 PM in the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont with Rev. Marthe Dyner, officiating. 

Family and friends may visit from 1PM to 2PM prior to the service. 

Burial will follow in Union Cemetery in Claremont.
