Raymond Ernest Simard, 68, formerly of Lovers Lane Road in Charlestown, died Wednesday morning August 15, 2012 at his home in North Walpole, surrounded by his family and friends. He was born in Lynn, MA on September 19, 1943 the son of Bertrand and Theresa (Soucy) Simard and had resided in Charlestown since 1982. He had previously lived in Georgetown, MA for thirteen years. He served in the US Air Force. Raymond worked for and retired from Roadway Trucking in Rockingham, VT as a freight driver. For ten years in the 80’s, Ray and his wife owned and operated Lovers Lane Market. He and his wife Cynthia enjoyed walking together and taking long trips on their Harley. Raymond was preceded in death by his wife Cynthia Sue (Macauley) Simard on November 2, 2009 whom he married on Oct. 23, 1965. The family includes two sons, Kevin Simard and his wife, Natalie of Leeds, ME and Mark Simard and his wife, Carlene of Drewsville, NH; one adopted daughter, Jeanne Wetherby and her husband, Bryan of North Walpole; ten grandchildren; two brothers, Roger Simard of MA and Philip Simard of ME; one sister, Lorraine Dylingowski of MA and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 18th at 11AM at the Charlestown Memorial, 34 Main Street in Charlestown, NH with Rev. Father Stephen Lepine, Pastor of St. Catherine of Siena Church officiating. Friends may call Saturday morning from 10 to 11AM prior to the service.
