Sara E. Bailey, 89, of Old Cheshire Turnpike in Charlestown, NH died on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at Valley Regional Hospital.

Sara was born in Newport Center, VT on April 16, 1923 the daughter of Charles and Eva (Hardy) Adams.

She loved her flower gardens, knitting, sewing, crocheting and many other crafts. She also liked bird watching.

During World War II, while her husband was at war, Sara lived with her children in Cornish at her parents and worked for a local shoe shop.

Sara was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker.

The family includes her husband of 71 years, Arthur Bailey of Charlestown; two daughters, Sandra Merrill and her husband, Gary and Sheila Palmisano and her husband, Joe both of Charlestown; six grandchildren, David Moseley and his wife, Michelle of Charlestown, Joe Palmisano of Charlestown, Guy Marvel of Coventry, CT, Kathy St. Pierre and her husband, David of Charlestown, Sally Bouchard and her husband, Rick of Claremont and Joseph K. Palmisano of Plainfield, CT; 15 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was pre-deceased by her parents, a sister, Vera Kuhre and her husband, Andrew; a grandson, Gary Merrill, Jr.; a great grandson, Benjamin Moseley and a great great grandson, Taevyn Merrill.

Funeral services will be held at the Charlestown Congregational Church, Main Street in Charlestown on Thursday, November 15th at 2:00PM with Rev. Susan Grant Rosen, officiating. 

Burial will follow in Pine Crest Cemetery.

The family would also like to thank the staff at the Sullivan County Health Care for the great care that they gave to Sara.
