Thomas J Flynn Jr., 98, died Saturday at the New Hampshire Veterans Home in Tilton, New Hampshire. Mr. Flynn was a long time resident of New London, New Hampshire with his late, beloved wife, Eleanor. Mr. Flynn was born in Montclair, New Jersey son of Thomas and Margaret Flynn and graduated from the University of Notre Dame. During World War II he served in the U.S. Army Air Corps, reached the rank of Captain and saw service in the Southwest Pacific theatre and Japan. After the War he married his beloved wife, Eleanor. They were married for 64 years prior to her death in 2010. After return from the War Mr. Flynn was a longtime insurance executive in Chicago and Boston. After retirement in 1976 to Florida Mr. Flynn served in local government and was mayor of Pompano Beach, Florida. Mr. Flynn is survived and missed by his son, Thomas J Flynn III and his wife Kristine of Plainfield New Hampshire.

Viewing hours will be held on Friday April 27th from 4:30 to 5:30 PM at Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St Mary’s Church in Claremont on Saturday April 28 at 10 AM. Burial will follow at The Old Main Street Cemetery in New London, NH. In lieu of flowers the family suggests a donation to the New Hampshire Veterans Home.
