Virginia B. Ptasnik, 93, of Scenic Hill Road, Charlestown, NH died peacefully Sunday night, July 29, 2012, at her home surrounded by her husband and her loving granddaughters and her daughter. She was born Virginia Bertha Wiggin in Springfield, MA to Ralph Chamberlain Wiggin and Helen (Merrifield) Wiggin on May 21, 1919. She attended Charlestown NH schools and graduated from Charlestown High School. As an adult, she worked as a waitress at the Pleasant Restaurant while her children were young. After moving from Claremont to Charlestown, she worked as a cashier at Hamlin’s IGA. When her children were grown, she moved back to Claremont and went to work for North Country Smokehouse as a cashier. She was a devoted, loving and giving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed being with her family, travelling with her husband, Peter, knitting, sewing, spoiling her cats, dancing and family parties. Her surviving family includes her husband of fifty years, Peter Ptasnik; her children, Edward Forsaith and his wife, Martha of Charlestown, David Forsaith and his wife, Judith also of Charlestown; her daughters, Alma Twombly and her life partner, Philip Paini of Bethel, VT and Milena Mongeon, of Goshen. She leaves a special daughter-in –law, Sandra Forsaith Fleury of Claremont and one brother, David Kinson and his wife, Maureen of Claremont; 13 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, her stepfather, Gerald Kinson, her brothers, Raymond Kinson, Gerald Kinson, Thomas Kinson and her sister, Deborah Morrill. Funeral services will be held at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Charlestown, NH on August 25, 2012 at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Marthe Dyner, officiating. Burial will follow in the Summer Hill Cemetery in Springfield, VT. Arrangements are with the Charlestown Memorial Chapel, 34 Main Street, Charlestown, NH. |
