Beatrice M. Poirier, 93, formally of Park Avenue in Claremont, NH died Sunday evening, February 3, 2013 at the Hospice House in Concord.

She was born in Newport, VT on October 14, 1919 the daughter of Wilfred and Natalie (Logier) Gosselin.

Beatrice has resided in Claremont since 1958. She worked as a waitress at the Pleasant Restaurant for 12 years and retired in 1983. She then worked at the Fishman’s Store for 5 years, Shulin’s Store and Shirley Donuts.

She married Lawrence G. Poirier in Newport, VT on April 14, 1941 and he died on November 14, 1999.

The family includes two daughters, Sylvia Limoges and Katherine and her husband, Richard Beliveau all of Claremont; two sisters, Alphonsine Crevier of South Burlington, VT and Antoinette Schofield of South Carolina; six grandchildren, Michael Limoges, Mark Limoges, Matthew Limoges, Andrea Wilson, Deborah Davidson and Stephen Beliveau; nine great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, Alexander, Alfred, Roger and Paul Gosselin; four sisters, Bertha O’Neill, Helen Morel, Jeannette Gosselin and Lucienne Morin.

Friends and family may call at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont on Wednesday evening from 6 to 8PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary’s Church on Thursday, February 7th at 2PM with Rev. Father Shawn Therrien, officiating.

Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
