Chester Sias Stone, 90, of Charlestown, NH died on August 6, 2013 at Springfield Health and Rehab in Springfield, VT. He was born in Springfield, VT on Dec. 11, 1922 the son of William C. and Ada H. (Willard) Stone and has resided in Charlestown since 1946. He was a graduate of Springfield, VT High School in the Class of 1941 and was a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Navy. He retired in 1983, after 35 years with Joy Manufacturing Company where he worked as a Senior Manufacturing Engineer. He was a member and Past Master of Faithful Lodge #12 F & AM; member of the Springfield Alumni Association, member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #1201, the American Legion Post #29, the Claremont Country Club, the Senior Citizen of Charlestown, Life member of Willard Family Association of America, Inc., a former member and Past Master of the Grange #204 and a member of the Charlestown Congregational Church. The family includes his wife, Ruth Agnes (Tierney) Stone of Charlestown, whom he married on Dec. 21, 1947; three sons, Dennis C. Stone and his wife, Suncha of Charlestown, Gregory T. Stone of Tucson, AZ and Bradley C. Stone of Clearwater, FL; three daughters, Dianne Schroeder and her husband, Robert of Barrington, Janis Hamel and her husband, Michael and Marcia Stone both of Claremont; six grandchildren, Devon Hamel and his wife, Claire, Rachel Hamel, Carl Stone and his wife, Carol, Andrew Stone, Zahna Stone and Tegan Schroeder also nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother, William W. Stone and two sisters, Charlene Comstock and Ada Hurd. Friends and family are invited to attend a graveside service on Friday, August 9th at 11AM at Pine Crest Cemetery in Charlestown.
