Constance H. Zullo, 91, of Hanover Street died peacefully in her home on Sunday March 24, 2013. She was born in Boston, MA on September 3, 1921 and has resided in Claremont for over 50 years. She previously lived in Massachusetts for 23 years, in addition to residing in Iowa, North Carolina, Taiwan and California.

She was a graduate of Melrose Mass High School, the University of New England Westbrook (Campus), attended the Boston University and Hawthorne College.

She served in the U.S.  Navy Nurse Corps during World War II and the Korean Conflict and attained the rank of Lt.  Sg.  She was awarded the American Campaign Medal

and the World War II Victory Medal. After the war, Mrs.  Zullo became a private Scrub Nurse to Boston Orthopedic Surgeon and also worked for Mass General Hospital.

She is a member of Westbrook College Alumni, Mass General Hospital Alumni

Association, St.  Joseph Church, and a 50 year member of the Girl Scouts of the U.S.A. Mrs. Zullo was a proud member of Women in Military Service Association; her name is on the WMIS memorial in Arlington and a video tape interview is in the archives.

She is survived by her husband of sixty years, Rocco Angelo Zullo; and her sons, Anthony P. Zullo, F. Michael Zullo, Patrick A. Zullo; and her daughters, Janet (Zooey) L. Zullo, Jennifer A. Zullo, Alexandra S. Zullo and six grandchildren whom she adored.  She was a saint and enriched every life that she touched with her kindness and wit. 

Friends and family may call at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Joseph Church on Wednesday, March 27th at 11AM with Rev. Father George Majka, officiating.

Interment will follow in St.  Mary Cemetery.
