Dorcas Lorraine Marro, 83, of Pleasant Street in Claremont, died Saturday, November 2, 2013 at the Valley Regional Hospital in Claremont.

She was born in Grand Falls, Newfoundland, Canada on December 25, 1929 the daughter of Phineas Stephen and Mary Jane (Turner) Boone.

After completing high school she worked at the Bank of Montreal as a teller until she moved to the United States in 1948, settling in NH.

She worked for Osgood Pharmacy and was a cosmetologist at Carroll Cosmetics for 15 years and later worked in the activity department at Mcurley’s Nursing Home.

She is the widow of Richard C. Marro whom she married on January 30, 1949 and he died on August 13, 2010.

She was a loyal member of the Assembly of God Church’s and developed many lasting friendships with her fellow parishioners.

The family includes two brothers, Harold Boone of Claremont and Stephen Boone of Labrador City, Labrador, Newfoundland, Canada; two sisters, Andrea Hiller of Lumsden, Newfoundland, Canada and Diane Stone of Botwood, Newfoundland, Canada as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was pre-deceased by three sisters, Edna Ivey, Frances Whalen and her twin sister Florence Smallwood.

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon, November 8th at two o’clock in the afternoon at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont with Pastor Donald Hasham, officiating.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday prior to the funeral from 12-2 PM.

Interment will be held in St. Mary Cemetery.
