Ernest M. Rzeczycki, 90, a lifetime resident of Claremont, N. H., died Saturday, May 18, 2013 at Dartmouth Medical Center after a period of declining health. Ernest was born on April 17, 1923, in Claremont, the son of Joseph and Sophia (Jerosonek) Rzeczycki. He was a graduate of Stevens High School in the class of 1940. In 1942 he enlisted in the U. S. Navy where he served through World War II as a radio operator. Upon discharge, Ernest was employed by the Railway Mail Service and then transferred to the U. S. Postal Service working as a mail carrier in Claremont, N. H. He retired in 1980 following 32 years of service. He was a lifelong communicant of St. Joseph Parish in Claremont. Survivors include his wife, Jane (Kolodziej) Rzeczycki whom he married on June 22, 1957. In addition, he is survived by his sister, Renata B. Mix of Valparaiso, FL as well as 21 nieces and nephews. Ernest was preceded in death by his five brothers, Edward E., Joseph H., Alexander V., Anthony B., and Stanley J. Rzeczycki. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 24, at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Church with Father George Majka officiating. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Claremont.
