Jay Cooke McClure II, 65, of Fiske Place in Claremont, passed away on Monday, December 16, 2013.

He was born in Keene, NH on February 28, 1948, the son of Alfred James and Betsy (Drake) McClure.

Jay was a graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, IA and had served in the Army during the Vietnam Era.

He was a self-employed chiropractor having worked in Westerly, RI, Pawcatuck, CT and Windsor Chiropractic Associates in Windsor, VT.

Jay was a very active and devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Ascutney, VT.

His faith sustained him and he didn’t fear death, he knew that he would be reunited with loved ones, after he left this earth.

The family includes one son, Jay Cooke McClure III; three daughters, Amanda McClure, Shannon McClure and Meagan McClure all of CT; two brothers, Pete McClure and Bob McClure; two sisters, Kitty Maher and Peggy Velez; four grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at noon on Saturday, December 21st at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Ascutney, VT with Bishop Bernie Ferland, officiating.

Visiting hours will be held on Saturday prior to the funeral services at the church from 10-12.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, May 17th at 10AM in Mountain View Cemetery in Swanzey, NH.
