Lucille Pearl Waters Hathaway, 81, died on Monday, July 8, 2013 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH. She was born in Keene, NH on September 23, 1931, the daughter of Raymond and Viola Bartley Waters. She has resided in Claremont, NH for most of her life, most recently at Marion Phillips. She attended Stevens High School and had been employed at area businesses, including the coffee shop at Claremont General Hospital, Sheehan’s Restaurant, International Shoe and in the kitchen at Senior Congress Park. She was a member of the Women of the Moose, both the Claremont and Newport Senior Citizen Clubs, Forester’s Club in Newport and the Marion Phillips Tenants Association. She loved music and dancing, movies, making crafts and volunteering wherever she could. She is survived by her son, Dwain C. Hathaway and his wife of Imperial Beach, CA and two daughters: Grace M. Hathaway LaBombard and her husband of Brookline, NH and Claire T. Turgeon Chase and her husband of Auburn, NH, seven grandchildren: Byron Jr., Dwain, Lue, Jeremy, Raylene, Richard and Tammy and their children, as well as two sisters being Mabel Ball of Springtown, TX and Carol MacDonald of Nova Scotia and their families and two brothers being Harold Bartley of Newport, NH and Charles Waters of Tuscon, AZ and their families, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Howard B. Hathaway, her mother and father, a brother Raymond Waters, Jr., a sister Shirley Fowler, as well as a daughter, Patricia Meyette Barriteau. Friends and family may call at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont on Friday evening July 12th from 6 to 8PM. A funeral service will be held at the Stringer Funeral Home on Saturday, July 13th at 2PM. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery in Claremont.
