Marjorie Alice Schnyer, 92, of Maple Avenue, Claremont, NH died Wednesday morning, March 6, 2013 at Elm Wood Health Care Center of Claremont.

She was a native and lifelong resident of Claremont, NH born on March 13, 1920, the daughter of Henry A. and Alice (Gould) Ott.

Marjorie was the widow of Harold E. Schnyer whom she married on October 30, 1937 and he died on April 1, 1998.

Mrs. Schnyer was a help-mate and partner to her husband in running the day-to-day operations of the Schnyer’s Auto Body business from 1946 to 1976.

She was a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Moose, a sixty year member of the Samaritan Society of the Universalist Church, a member of the Union Episcopal Church Cemetery Committee.

The surviving family includes a daughter-in-law, Joanne Schnyer of Claremont; two grandchildren, Sarah Maki and Bradley Schnyer of Claremont; five great-grandchildren, Laura Maki, Andrew Maki, Julia Maki, Craig Lafountain-Schnyer and Nickolas Schnyer; one sister, Mary Jane Eastman of Springfield, VT; one brother, Raymond Ott of Swampscott, MA; also nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her son, Douglas E. Schnyer on December 13, 2012, one grandson-in-law, Adam Maki, who died Aug. 18, 2011, two brothers, Richard and Russell Ott; two sisters, Carolyn Thibodeau and Laura Creary and three infant sisters.

Per her request there will be no calling hours.

Funeral Services will be held Monday afternoon, March 11th at 1PM in the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street, Claremont with Rev. Paul Sawyer officiating. Burial will follows in the West Claremont Burying Grounds.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Connecticut Valley Home Care/Hospice, Alzheimer’s Support Group, 958 John Stark Highway, Newport, NH 03773 or a charity of one’s choice.
