Mieczyslaw Staszkiewicz, 92 of Dane Avenue in Claremont and formerly of Depot Street in Enfield, died Saturday morning, November 2, 2013 after a brief period of ill health.

He was born in Mala Mysa, Poland on December 24, 1920 the son of Wladyslaw and Konstancja Staszkiewicz.

Mieczyslaw was a tailor and had worked for Campion’s Clothing and Serry’s Clothing both in Hanover.

He loved gardening, politics and especially his grandchildren.

He was the widower of Genowefa Staszkiewicz whom he married on June 16, 1946 and she died on September 5, 2006.

The family includes four sons, Longin and his wife Nancy of Sunapee, NH, Tadeusz R. and his wife Grazyna of Claremont, NH, Krzysztof C. of Manchester, NH and Andrzej N. and his wife Patty of Goffstown, NH; four grandchildren, Wojtek, Katarzyna, Adam and Caitlin; one brother-in-law, Longin Ambros and his wife, Melissa of Hartland, VT; nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street, Claremont on Wednesday evening from 6:30-8 PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, November 7th at 11:00 AM in St. Joseph Church, Claremont with Rev. Father George Majka, Pastor, officiating.

Interment will follow in Hartland Cemetery in Hartland, VT.
