Oliver A. Cook, 92, of Hillstead Road in Claremont, NH died on Tuesday, June11, 2013 at Elm Wood Center. He was born in Ashburnham, MA on November 18, 1920 the son of Waldo Arthur and Hazel Mae (Aylsworth) Cook. Ollie had resided in Claremont since 1986 and previously in Sacramento, CA for 12 years and San Francisco Bay area for nearly 30 years. He was a 1938 graduate of Lebanon High School. He served in the US Navy during WWII as a Naval Navigator in the Navy Air Command. He worked for the AMFAC Dist. in Folsom, CA for 39 years where he worked as Assistant to Branch Manager and he retired in 1965. He was a member of the American Legion Post 0029, Hiram Lodge #9, F & A M of Claremont, the Scottish Rite, The York Rite Bodies and a 32nd Degree Mason. He was widowed by his first wife, Frances (Weld) Cook whom he married on May 5, 1944 and she died on March 9, 1992. The family includes his wife, Doris Grace (Nolet) Wolcott whom he married on May 27, 1995; his sister, Mildred Barron of Lebanon, NH; two step-daughters, Sheila Juliani of Wellesley, MA and Cynthia Wolcott of Coto De Caza, CA; a nephew, Charles Weld of Brownsville, VT. Graveside service will be held in the Comings Cemetery in Cornish, NH on Saturday, June 15th at 11AM with a service performed by the Masonic Fraternity of Claremont. |
