Patricia Ann Burnham, 66, of Hackett Swamp Road in Charlestown passed away Saturday evening June 22, 2013 at her home. Patty was born on October 31, 1946, a native to Long Island, NY where she grew up with sister, Linda and their parents, James and Lillian Ittem. In 1985 Patty moved to NH and began a career in law enforcement. She retired from the Walpole police Department in November of 2008. She met her husband, Mike during that time. Patty and Mike were married on June 21, 1992. Patty had a big heart for her friends and family and was a champion for animals. People who visited the farm where Patty and Mike called home, would often find her tending to the farm animals or spoiling her pets. Before her illness, Patty took courses in veterinarian medicine and even worked at the Charlestown Animal Hospital part time. Patty was a proud grandmother. She could often be found driving the grand kids around to social events or shopping for gardening supplies. Patty liked to visit friends and family in NY every year, but also became accustomed to and developed an affection for the slow paced life style on the farm. The family includes her husband, Mike of Charlestown; her son, Jeffrey Burnham and his wife, Stephanie of Claremont; two grandchildren, Ethan and Aisha Burnham; her sister, Linda Ittem-Rady and her husband, Walter “Gator” of Unity. Friends and family may call at the Charlestown Memorial Chapel on Main Street on Saturday, June 29th from 12 to 2PM. A memorial service will be held at the Chapel at 2PM with Pastor Patricia Wells, officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations in Patty’s memory to go to your local animal rescue group. |
