Theodore A. Monetta, 78, of Claremont, NH and Naples, FL died on Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH. Ted was born in Claremont, NH on August 17, 1935 the son of Daniel and Marie (Cricenti) Monetta. He graduated from Stevens High School with the Class of 1953 and Becker College in Worcester, MA, where he received an Associate Degree in Business Administration. Ted owned and operated Shoeast retail store in Claremont, Newport and Springfield for 35 years. He also developed Fenwood housing and condominiums along with US Post Office in New London. He was a veteran of the US Army. Ted married Sally Truelove on November 30, 1963 and she passed away in 1998. He was a longtime member of the Claremont Kiwanis Club and the Claremont Country Club. He was also chairman of the board of directors of the Fiske Free Library for many years; trustee of the Claremont Savings Bank for 20 years and was a member of the board of directors at the Claremont Paper Mill. Ted was a communicant of St Mary’s Church in Claremont. His family includes his sister, Carmel Brendese of Troy, NY; several nieces and nephews and his longtime companion, Lucille Viens of Claremont. Funeral services will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Fiske Free Library, 108 Broad Street, Claremont, NH 03743. |
