William A. Vigneault, 69 of Ainsworth Road in Claremont, died suddenly Wednesday night December 25, 2013 at the Valley Regional Hospital.

He was born in Orono, Maine on June 17, 1944 the son of Normand and Gertrude (Weeks) Vigneault and had resided in Claremont for 32 years and was previously from Merrimac, MA.

Bill was a 1962 graduate of Pentucket Regional High School and had attended Fitchburg State College.

Bill worked for Bell and Flynn in Stratham NH before he relocated to Claremont NH in 1982 where he was employed as Director of Public Works for the city of Claremont NH.  In 1992 he accepted a job with Whitcomb Construction as a sales estimator.  In April of 1997 he was then employed by Pike Industries. This April 2013 he retired from Pike but was still currently working as a consultant.

Bill was a member of the Precision Valley Fish and Game Association and the Croydon Flat Congregational Church.

He loved spending time with his daughter and grandchildren, he also enjoyed guns, bowling and woodworking in his shop out back. He was also an avid reader and history buff. The ocean was another thing he enjoyed with his wife, Brenda. The past five years for the month of August they have rented a family cottage in Rye NH where they spent many hours soaking up the sun and surf.

The family includes his wife, Brenda (Philbrick) Vigneault of Claremont whom he married on August 1,1981; two daughters, Wendy Almstrom and her husband, Mark of Croydon and Dawn Rebecca Dean of Brighton, England; nine grandchildren, Spencer, Aiden, Liam, Bradley, Samantha, Thomas, William, Katie and Emily; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Deborah Vigneault, and her wife Sue Edwards of Sandown NH; one brother, Richard Vigneault and his wife Cindy of Brentwood NH; also several aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by one brother, Steven Vigneault.

Friends may call at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street, Claremont, NH on Thursday, January 2nd from 12-2 PM.

Funeral services will be held at the Croydon Flat First Congregational Church at 3PM on Thursday with Mark Rowell, Pastor. Interment will be on Friday, January 3rd at 1 PM in Central Cemetery in Rye, NH.  The family suggests that donations may be made in his memory to the Founders Affiliate, American Heart Association, PO Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241-7005.
