Anna A. (Prozzo) Cyr, 93, of Charlestown, NH died on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at Springfield, VT hospital after a period of declining health.

She was born in Rutland, VT on June 15, 1921 the daughter of Angelina (Vecchione) and Pasquale Prozzo.

In the early years she operated Dick’s Dress Shop in Rutland, VT for 6 years. She worked at Arizona State College for 2 years, and then worked as a lacer at Encore Shoe in Newport NH for 4 years. She has resided in Claremont since 1948.

She married Richard M. Cyr, Sr. on May 26, 1941 and they enjoyed 64 years together before his passing on March 20, 2002. Their loving union produced five daughters and one son.

The family includes:  Patricia (Cyr) and Richard Columbia, Claremont NH; Carol (Cyr) and Ronald Garneau, Charlestown NH; Angela (Cyr) and Larry Ruest, Keene NH; Anna (Cyr) and Raymond Bernard, Claremont NH; Betty Jean (Cyr) Rose, Edgewater FL; Richard M. Cyr, Jr. and his wife Lisa DeStefano, Portsmouth NH; Elsie (Prozzo) Papa, West Palm Beach FL (sister); Robert Prozzo, Rutland VT (brother); seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was pre-deceased by:  Richard M. Cyr, Sr. (husband – deceased March 20, 2002); Pasquale Prozzo (father); Angelina Vecchione (mother); Pasquale Prozzo Jr. (brother); Louis Prozzo (brother); Michael Prozzo Sr. (brother) and Christopher Palmer (grandson).

At the family’s request, there will be no visiting hours. A private memorial service for the family will be held at a later date at the funeral home with Rev. George Majka, Pastor of St. Joseph Church, officiating.
