Arthur K. Brown, 82, of Jackson Road in Cornish, NH died on Friday, July 25, 2014 at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Hanover, NH. He was born in Reading, VT on June 15, 1932 the son of Preston K. and Blanche (Rayno) Brown. Art was a graduate of Stevens High School in the Class of 1950 and attended Paul Smith College in New York for forestry. He was also a graduate of the National Hardwood Lumber Association School in Memphis, TN. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. As owner of P.K. Brown’s and Sons, Inc., he manufactured and bought lumber for many faithful customers. He enjoyed woodturning, golf and his garden. He was a member of the Hampton Club in Saint Simon’s Island, Georgia. The family includes his wife, Carol J. (Gardner) Brown of Cornish whom he married on September 10, 1960; his brother, William Brown of Claremont; his sister, Madelyn Kinsman of Norwich, VT and several nieces and nephews. Friends and family may call at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont on Friday evening, August 1st from 5 to 8PM. A prayer service will be held at 8PM.
