Carolyn ‘Kay” Emond, 96, of Sunset Street in Claremont died on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Elm Wood.

She was born in Claremont, NH on February 13, 1918 the daughter of Harold and Emily Woodward, born to Virginia Keyes.

Carolyn worked as a clerk at Houghton & Simonds of Claremont as well as Buckos Pharmacy, Valliere Pharmacy and Holsom Bakery.

She loved crafts and the ocean especially York Beach, Maine.

Carolyn married Paul Alfred Emond on July 26, 1941 who died on November 19, 1993.

The family includes three sons, Paul A. Emond Jr. of Springfield, VT, David A. Emond and Stephen C. Emond both of Claremont; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and  great great grandchildren; one sister, Beverly Damren of West Lebanon and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Bychek and a brother, Harold Woodward, Jr.

Friends and family may call at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont on Wednesday, February 19th from 10 to 11AM.

A service will be held at the Funeral Home at 11AM with Priscilla Hull officiating. Burial will follow in West Claremont Burying Grounds.
