Dorothy Fedra Shabbott, 91, formerly of Charlestown, NH died on Sunday, June 15, 2014 in Newport News, VA.

She was born in Rutland, VT on September 25, 1922 the daughter of William and Fedra (Roussil) West.

Dorothy worked as a Registered Nurse in Rutland Hospital, Springfield Hospital, Claremont General and Valley Regional Hospital, working in maternity, pediatrics, same day surgery and surgical units.

She was a volunteer at Valley Regional Hospital for many years.

Dorothy’s family meant everything to her.  She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

 Dorothy was the widow of Joseph L. Shabbott whom she married on June 29, 1946 and he died on September 11, 1989.

The family includes two sons, Joseph Shabbott and his wife Vicky of Gloucester, VA and Ronald J. Shabbott and his wife Mary of Fort Worth, TX; five daughters, Judith Hasson and her husband, Raymond of Ledyard, CT, Mary Lou McGuinness and her husband, Michael of Clearwater, Florida, Lynn Becker and her husband, Richard of Claremont, Patti Koscielniak and her husband Michael of Castle Rock, Colorado and Gail Woznicki and her husband, Douglas of Broadview Heights, OH; eighteen grandchildren; twenty-eight great grandchildren; two sisters, Theresa Donovan and Jean Tesconi.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, William West, Robert West and Richard West and her sister, Rita West Laird.

Friends and family may call at the Charlestown Memorial Chapel, 34 Main Street on July 12^th from 9 to 10:30AM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St Catherine of Siena Church on Main Street in Charlestown at 11AM.

Burial will be held in St Catherine’s Cemetery.
