Frances H. Chaffee, 77, of Charlestown died on Sunday morning, May 18, 2014 passing peacefully in her sleep at the Elm Wood Center in Claremont.

She was born in Bellows Falls, VT on September 18, 1936, the daughter of Lawrence Sherrette and Madeline (Largess) Dolloph.

Frances had worked for McGirrs Nursing Home as a dietary aid.

She was a member of the Red Hat Society and the Charlestown Senior Center. 

Frances loved to travel and had been on many of the senior bus trips and enjoyed her water aerobics.

She was the widow of Edward W. Chaffee whom she married in March of 1971.

The family includes one son, Scott Chaffee and his wife, Tammy of Claremont; one brother, Roger Dolloph of Athens, VT; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins also a close cousin, Barbara Balcom and close friend, Peggy Dolloph.

She was predeceased by two sons, George Pecor and Larry Pecor; one brother, John and one sister, Doris.

Funeral services will be held at the Charlestown Memorial Chapel, 34 Main Street in Charlestown on Thursday, May 22nd at Eleven O’clock in the morning.

Friends and family may call from 9 to 11AM prior to the funeral service.

Interment will follow in Pine Crest Cemetery in Charlestown.
