Fred L. Zullo, 94, of Edgewater, FL, died on Thursday morning, August 21, 2014, at Woodlawn Nursing Home in Newport, NH. He was born on January 30, 1920, the son of Antonio and Congetta (Marro) Zullo. Fred graduated in 1938 from Stevens High School. He was also a graduate of UNH, where he had earned a bachelor’s degree in business. Fred was a veteran of World War II, having served in the United States Army, where he was injured in the Battle of the Bulge. He had worked for Master Chemical in Perrysburg, OH, as a service engineer. Fred married Bernice Edna (Ockington) Zullo on May 31, 1941 and she died on July 29, 2001. The family includes one son, Alexander Zullo and his wife, Audrey of Newport; one daughter, Constance Z. Barth and her husband, John of Brownsville, VT; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; four brothers, Rocco Zullo of Claremont, Oliver Zullo of Newport, Patrick Zullo of Newport and Ralph Zullo of Jacksonville, NC; two sisters, Rose Bly of Claremont and Delores Curtis of Springhill, FL; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by one son, Rocco Zullo; one brother, Alexander Zullo; four sisters, Adrianne Baldsarra, Theresa Diprimo, Mary Gobeille and Louisa Baldasarro. Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, August 23rd from 9:30-10:30 AM, at Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street, Claremont, NH. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Saturday at St. Joseph Church, with Rev. Father George Majka, officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery in Claremont with military honors.
