Gerald Dashner, 70, of Summit Road in Charlestown, NH died on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at his home. He was born in Claremont, NH on December 15, 1943 the son of Leonard and Irene (Hamel) Dashner. Gerald was a 1962 graduate of Stevens High School. He then joined the US Navy from 1962 until 1966 and was an electronic technician. He worked for Fellows as a draftsman, Rugers, J&L as an electrical draftsman and was a finish carpenter working for George Chait Carpentry in Sunapee. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #12 in Charlestown, and the Bektash Oriental Band, playing the horn. He was an avid reader, violin maker and repairer, clock maker, furniture maker and loved the outdoors. His family includes his wife, Linda M. (Adams) Dashner whom he married in 1971; his daughter, Kristie Grove of Hendersonville, NC; five grandchildren, Nicholas, Ashley, Alexandra, Cristina and Camille; one great grandchild, Liam; two sisters, Nancyann Callum of Unity and Dorothy Dashner of Claremont. He was preceded in death by his son, Troy Dashner in 1990. A memorial service will be held at the Charlestown Congregational Church, Main Street in Charlestown on November 1st at 2PM Rev. Susan Grant Rosen, officiating. A reception will follow in the Pine Room. Burial will be held at a later date in the West Claremont Burying Ground.
