Gertrude P. Miller, 86, of Claremont, NH passed away on February 4, 2014 at the Elm Wood Center in Claremont. She was a native and lifelong resident of Claremont born on February 20, 1927 the daughter of Alfred and Eva (Hardy) Perry. She lived in Panama, South America. She lived in France from 1957 to 1961. In France she was the President of the Non Commissioned Officers Wives Club. She traveled and camped around France, Germany, Italy, Belgium, Switzerland and Holland. She lived in Texas, Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey, Virginia, Oklahoma, Vermont and New Hampshire. She had a horse ranch in Oklahoma. She had a horse farm in Maryland. Gertrude and Wallace loved flea markets and yard sales and camping. She collected dolls and knick knacks. She loved her dog, Sparky who would visit her at the nursing home. She was the widow of a 3 war veteran, Wallace F. Miller, US Army retired who passed away in 1999. She is survived by three sons, Paul E. Miller, former Ambassador for the State of Vermont in Vevey, Switzerland, Gerald Lee Miller of Colorado Springs, CO and Wallace Dennis Miller of Dale City, Virginia; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; one sister, Pauline Buckner of Claremont; sister in law, Shirley Plante of Raymond and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Emile Perry. Friends and family may call at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont on Friday, February 7th from 10 to 11AM. Funeral services will be held at 11AM at the Funeral Home with Pastor Patricia Wells officiating. Burial will follow in West Claremont Burying Grounds. |
