Harold Marsh Noyes died Sunday evening, October 26, 2014, peacefully and quietly in his home at Bentley Commons, Keene, NH.

 Harold  Noyes was born September 27, 1917 in Wilder, VT to Claude L Noyes and Sarah M Noyes.  After 13 years of formal schooling, Harold worked for Covell the Painter for 2 years. He was a draftsman then Mechanical Engineer at Jones and Lamson Manufacturing in Springfield, VT,  for 45 years and retired  with a big party in 1982.  During those years at J & L, Harold belonged to and was an officer in the American Society of Tool and Manufacturing Engineers (ASTME).

 Harold was preceeded in death by his first wife Phyllis Nicholson Noyes.  He is survived by their son, Steve Noyes, who resides in Laurel, MD.  He was also preceeded in death by their adopted son, Kenny Cloud Noyes.  Sister Ruth Conner predeceased him 2013 and brother Robert in 2014.

 His second wife Shirley H Noyes passed away in 2013. They would have been married  50 years on August 8, 2014.   He is survived by her three children, his step children: Marsha Bowen of Houston, TX,  Stephen Hendry of San Marcos, CA,  and Claire Hendry of Rancho Santa Fe, CA.   Harold is survived by  2 grandchildren, nieces and nephews ,and grand nieces and nephews from both sides of the family. Harold and Shirley were active members of the First United Methodist Church of Claremont during their 47 years together in Claremont, NH.  (Harold resided in Claremont, NH for 68 years altogether.) They moved to Bentley Commons in Keene, NH in 2011 where they made many new friends together. 

 Harold was always active throughout his life.  He enjoyed golfing and bowling and was a member of the Sugar River Bowling Association. He taught skiing  for many years at Mt Ascutney in  VT, and participated in many sports activities with his family at the Lake Mascoma cottage in Enfield, NH. Throughout his life he was adept at woodworking and metalworking.  After his "retirement", Harold enjoyed becoming an expert repairing and rebuilding bicycles and small engines and, then later, clocks in shops he set up in his basement and in his garage.  All his life he was "Mr. Fix It". 

He is already missed by all who knew and loved him including his wonderful caregivers at Bentley Commons and Life Choice Hospice.

 Family and friends are invited to join in a Memorial to celebrate Harold's life at Bentley Commons, 197 Water Street, Keene, NH on November 5, 2014.  Proceedings will begin at 2 pm.
