Kenneth Ray Tashro, 89, of Route120 in Cornish, NH died on January 19, 2014 one hour before his 90th birthday.

He was born in Claremont, NH on January 20, 1924 the son of Gerald B. and Estella V. (Braley) Tashro.

Ken served in the US Navy from April of 1942 to October of 1945 and was 2nd Class Fire Controlman. He was a Tin Can Sailor.

He was a farmer working for Dairy Herd Improvement Association.

He liked camping with the Rolling Wheels in Vermont. He was member of all 7 Granges and the VFW of Charlestown, NH; a past member of the American Legion in Huntingston, MA which is dissolvent.

The family includes his cousin and companion of 20 years, June Parkinson of Cornish; a sister, Florence Ellison of Portland, OR; a nephew, James Harding of Croydon; a niece, Donna Dahill of MA and several other nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Nellie Tashro in 1993; a brother, Ellsworth Tashro in 1950; a sister, Estella Belle Dahill in 2011 and a nephew, Kenneth Dahill.

Friends and family may call at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont on Friday, January 24th from 12 to 2PM.

Funeral service will be held at 2PM at the Funeral Home with Priscilla Hull officiating.
