Kenneth William Moore, 89, of Charlestown, NH died on August 9, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Saxtons River, VT on April 9, 1925 the son of Lester and Shirley (Putnam) Moore. He married Virginia Rose Mullett on April 17, 1949 and they were married for 44 years until Virginia’s death in 1992. They lived in Charlestown their whole married life. He worked at Jones & Lamson for 37 years as an electrician and had a part time electrical business called Moore’s Electric for 55 years. He was a member of the South Parish Unitarian Church for over 65 years. He was an active person who loved life, enjoying downhill skiing, water skiing, boating especially on the Connecticut River, riding his motorcycle, dancing, singing with Silvertones and sharing Sunday meals with his family. He loved his children and remained present in their lives all his life. He had many friends and was a good friend to many. The family includes two sons, Dennis Moore and his wife, Lorraine of Newton and Mike Moore and his significant other, Mondi Foster of Charlestown; a daughter, Robyn Carpenter and her husband, Bob of Plainfield; four grandchildren, Ryan Welch, Nathan Moore, Gary Moore, Jr and Shawna Carpenter Sanville; five great grandchildren; his sister, Ruth Gerow and a special friend, Evelyn Massey. He was preceded in death by his wife, two infant daughters, April and Cindy and a son, Gary in 2013. Friends and family may call at the Charlestown Memorial Chapel, 34 Main Street on Wednesday, August 13th from 4 to 7PM. Funeral services will be held at the South Parish Unitarian Church in Charlestown on Thursday morning at 11AM with Greg Marshall officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Crest Cemetery. A reception will be held at the Charlestown Senior Center.
