Leon N. LaCroix, 78, of Claremont, died Sunday morning, March 30, 2014 at the Hanover Terrace in Hanover, NH, after a long standing illness. He is the eldest son of Henry and Emilina (Plant) LaCroix. Leon was a US Air Force Veteran and continued his civil service career working for the VA Hospital and US Postal Service. To the community he last served, Leon was known as the easy going charismatic “Window Guy” at the Claremont Post office. Leon loved life, he was an avid golfer and enjoyed the outdoors especially fishing and camping. The four phrases that best describe Leon’s legacy would be; worked hard, laughed, loved and golfed. He will be truly missed and always loved in our thoughts and prayers. Leon is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Thelma H. (Bixby); four children, Paul, Darlene, Stan and Kurt. He was a loving grandfather to his five grandchildren, Ben, Melissa, Tyler, Hunter and Christain, he was also a proud great grandfather to Madox, Adia, Nyna and Mia, he is also survived by four siblings, Albert, Yvette, Ida and Giselle. He was predeceased by one granddaughter, Jessica; one brother, Leo. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday morning, April 3rd at 11AM at the St. Joseph Church on Elm Street in Claremont with Rev. George Majka, officiating. Burial will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family request that monetary donations be made to the following organizations; VA Hospital, AA Program, 215 North Main Street, White River JCT, VT 05001 or Lewy Body Dementia Association, 912 Killian Hill Road, S.W., Lilburn, GA 30047 or the Shriners Children’s Hospital, 51 Blossom Street, Boston, MA 02114. |
