Madeline L. Ferland, 82, of Lempster, NH died on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH. She was born in Ludlow, VT on April 16, 1932 the daughter of Frank L. and Anna (Derosier) Russell. Madeline had resided in Lempster since 1973, previously in North Charlestown for five years and on Cedar Street in Claremont for twenty years. She had worked as a cashier at the IGA Store for eight years and at F.W. Woolworth Store for one year and was a Tupperware Dealer for ten years. Madeline was a member of the Lempster Long Pond Association for forty years, secretary for eight years, a member of the Board of Directors for twelve years also was a supervisor of the checklist for three years in Lempster. She enjoyed crocheting and made many gifts for family and friends. Madeline married Roger M. Ferland on September 16, 1950 and he passed away on March 18, 2014. The family includes two sons, John Ferland and his wife, Ruth and James Ferland, of Cornish; one daughter, Joan Stevens of Lempster; eight grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; one sister, Rita Ploof and her husband, Charlie of Claremont also several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was pre-deceased by one daughter, Roseanna Ferland; one grandson, Mark Marsh; three sisters, Mildred, Luella and Frances and one brother, Francis Russell and a step-granddaughter, Cheryl Farnsworth. Graveside services will be held for both Madeline and Roger on Friday, October 3rd at 11:30 AM at the New Hampshire Veteran’s Cemetery in Boscawen, NH. |
