Madeline P. Shank, 87, of Newport, NH, died on Tuesday morning, October 21, 2014 at Elm Wood Center in Claremont.

She was born in Island Falls, Maine on October 19, 1927 the daughter of Victor J. and Anna (Gilbert) Fisher.

She married John W. Shank on November 28, 1970 and he died on May 17, 2008.

Madeline enjoyed gardening and sharing the bounty with her family and friends, and will always be remembered for her frosted chocolate brownies and love for her pets, especially her dogs. No other dogs had as many squeaky toys in a basket as did her dogs.

The family includes one daughter, Barbara Dubaniewicz and her husband, Dennis of Claremont; one son, Gary Lunderville and his wife, JoAnne of Claremont; two step-daughters, Terry-Lee Reamon and her husband, Paul and Sherry Lynn Lee and her husband, Richard both of Newport; six grandchildren, Cassandra Steele and her husband, Matthew; Nichole Dubaniewicz, both of Claremont; Bryson Lunderville of Weston, VT; Tammy Bergeron and her husband, Mark of Cornish, NH; Leon Lemieux and his wife Allison and Todd Lemieux both of Claremont; ten great-grandchildren, Fallon Lavertue, Stella Lavertue, Aidan Antonivich, Jackson Lunderville, Tessa Lunderville, Melissa Chapman, Ashley Bergeron, Alexis Lemieux, Jordan Lemieux and Todd Lemieux, Jr.; one great great  grandson, Owen Chapman.

She is predeceased by one daughter, Gloria Lemieux in 1989; two sisters, Colleen Fisher in 1943 and Jeanette Winter in 2011.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, October 25th in the North Newport Cemetery at 11 AM with Rev. Father George Majka, Officiating, Pastor of St. Joseph Church in Claremont.
