Marjorie “Midge” Lois Riviezzo, 88, of Claremont died Sunday evening, February 9, 2014 at the Elm Wood Center in Claremont. She was born in Claremont on October 28, 1925 the daughter of Herbert L. and Gladys (Laskey) Blanchard. Midge had worked for Goodyear doing assembly for 27 years. She married George Riviezzo on August 3, 1946 and he died on May 18, 1991. Midge enjoyed bingo, crocheting, computer games, word puzzles and solving cryptograms. She sang and played the rhythm guitar for the Green Valley Players Band in Brownsville, VT and was a member of Windsor Elks Emblem Club. Midge loved being surrounded by her children and family and was extremely happy when they were all around. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother with a very caring soul and would give anything she had if someone else needed it. Midge had a very big heart and was very generous to everyone, she always opened her home to anyone who did not have a place to go for the holidays. The family includes three sons, George Riviezzo and his wife, Andrea of Unity, Patrick Riviezzo and his wife, Renee of New Boston and Dennis Riviezzo and his wife, Pat of Charlestown; three daughters, Sandra Thomas and her husband, Paul of Lempster, Angie Dewhurst and her husband, William of Nottingham and Seba Skinner and her husband, Kevin of Newport; four sisters, her twin Mary Larmie of Derry, Florence Strout of St. Cloud, FL, Anna Brown and Ruth Adams both of Windsor, VT; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by one daughter, Rose Matteau; one granddaughter, Penny Sue Thomas; three brothers, Paul Blanchard, Richard Blanchard and Frederick Blanchard; one sister, Alice “Sally” Strout. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 15th from 1-5PM at the Claremont Senior Center, 5 Acer Heights Road, Claremont, NH. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to the Alzheimer’s Assocation, Massachusetts/New Hampshire Chapter, 480 Pleasant Street, Watertown, MA 02472 or to the National Kidney Foundation, 85 Astor Ave, Ste 2, Norwood, MA 02062-5040. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, May 10th at St. Francis Cemetery in Windsor, VT at eleven o’clock in the morning.
