Neal W. Spencer, 71, of Veterans Park Road in Claremont, died Monday, April 14, 2014, unexpectedly at his home.

He was born in Revere, MA on December 22, 1942, the son of Kenneth and Ruth (Fisher) Spencer.

Neal retired as a visual inspector from Sturm Ruger in 2006.

He enjoyed watching NASCAR and working on cars.

The surviving family includes his wife, Joan L. (Dole) Spencer, whom he married on October 1, 1988; one daughter, Amy Spaulding and her husband, Patrick of Cavendish, VT; one son, Harland Spencer and his wife, Melissa of Cleveland, NY; two step-daughters, Sara Lewko and her husband, James of Concord, NH and Christine Hardy and her husband, Michael of Claremont; one brother, Wayne Spencer of Avon, MN; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is predeceased by two sisters, Barbara Fluette and Beverly Pouliot; two brothers, Kenneth Spencer and Warren Spencer.

At his request there will be no visiting hours.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at 2PM in Mountain View Cemetery, Claremont.
