Norbert Joseph Rivard, 82 of Hingham, MA and formerly Claremont, NH died on Thursday, November 20, 2014.

He was born on June 6, 1932 in Claremont the son of Alcide and Medora Rivard.

Norbert was a graduate of St Mary High School in the class of 1952. He was a veteran serving in the US Air Force from 1952 to 1956.

He had worked for GTE Government Systems Corp. as a mechanical Tool Calibrator and Inspector for 30 year, retiring in 1993.

He was the widower of Roberta E. (Thibault) Rivard who died on February 18, 2009.

The family includes two sons, Francis Norbert Rivard of Florida and Bernard Rivard and his wife, Amy of Norfolk, MA; two daughters, Denise Bugg and her husband, Gerald of Florida and Diane Hagan and her husband, William of Ohio; five grandchildren; one brother, Matthew Rivard of Claremont and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Isidore, Aime and Gerard Rivard and one sister, Marie Irene Rivard.

Visiting hours will be held at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont on Monday, November 24^th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8PM.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, November 25^th at St Mary Church at 11AM with Father Shawn Therrien officiating.

Burial will be held in St Mary Cemetery in Claremont on Wednesday at 10AM with Military honors.
