Ronald Alderic Charland, 85, of Heritage Drive in Claremont, NH died on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at Valley Regional Hospital. He was born in West Warwick, RI on January 5, 1929 the son of Ernest and Mary (Buba) Charland. He was veteran of the Korean War having served in the US Army. Ronald was a racing fanatic, and enjoyed going to the races and watching it on tv. He also enjoyed eating and was a wonderful cook as well. He was a member of the American Legion Post 29 in Claremont. The family includes his companion, Ginny Berquist of Claremont; his daughter, Michelle Charland of Boulder City, NV; two granddaughters, Candice Whatley and Taylor Johnson; his sister, Cecile Potvin and her husband, Theodore of Coventry, RI; his brother, Thomas Charland and his wife, Betty of Claremont and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held in the Chapel at the NH State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, NH on Friday, November 7th at 12:30PM.
